For twenty years, the small nation of Costa Rica has made a name for itself as a pioneer in nature conservation and ecotourism. Small and peaceful, and with an extraordinary network of national parks and reserves, it has quickly grown into one of the most popular travel destinations in Latin America.

Since 1980, I have traveled to Costa Rica every year, amassing the largest collection of Costa Rican images of anyone in the United States. In 1996, I published the first large-format photographic book on the country: Costa Rica, Forests of Eden. (click here to order)
